This week there were a series of town meetings in Duck, Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills this week. Below is the information from the Duck meeting – the same presentation was made to Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills with the only difference being the town-specific maps presented. Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills presentations will be available by next week on the www.morebeachtolove.com site (Duck is uploaded).
From the Town of Duck:
I am sure that you are all aware of the Beach Nourishment project that will be under way late this spring into the summer. On Wednesday, the contractors came to the Town Council Retreat with an updated presentation followed by a question and answer session. I wanted to make you all aware that that video of that presentation has been uploaded to the Town’s website and You Tube Channel. Please feel free to view it and share with your clients.

Pertinent items from the Kill Devil Hills Meeting:
Duck – 1.6 miles beginning mid to late May through mid-late July
Kitty Hawk – all of Kitty Hawk beginning mid-June through mid-August
Kill Devil Hills – 2.6 miles from the Kitty Hawk line to Lowell Street – dependent on Kitty Hawk completion – projected early August – early-mid September
- 1000 feet at a time will be blocked off.
- Estimate 3-5 days in each 1000 ft. area will be inaccessible to public.
- Staging area at Helga Street for duration of project. This is important as this is a high traffic area in the summer
- Up-to-date schedule and information as project progresses at www.MoreBeachtoLove.com.
Towns are sending out notices to oceanfront owners to sign a Hold Harmless agreement for the contractors. I have attached a copy of the Kill Devil Hills form.
Please feel free to share this information with your friends!
